Officials discuss holding 19th ASEAN University Games in Yangon

A bilateral meeting between ASEAN University Sports Council-AUSC and Myanmar University Sports Federation-MUSF on holding 19th ASEAN University Games in Myanmar in December 2018. The meeting held at University of Yangon’s Diamond Jubliee Hall of the Yangon University was opened with a key note address by. Union Minister for Education, Dr. Myo Thein Gyi.

He expressed his delight for including the Myanmar’s traditional rowing race in the games which had not held on Myanmar’s soil for decades.

Following the opening ceremony, the bilateral meeting was held and Professor Dr Thazin Lwin, Head of the Chemistry Department of the Yangon University. Chairman and officials of ASEAN University Sports Council-AUSC, officials from Singapore and Thailand Universities, a member of the ASEAN University Sports Council Dr. Hla Tint and Higher education department director-general Dr. Thein Win participated in the discussion. At least sixteen sports including athletic, soccer, volleyball, canoeing and swimming will be concluded during the game according to the discussion meeting.
