Children’s literature festival in Taunggyi concludes

The closing ceremony of the Children’s Literature Festival and Book Sales event co-sponsored by the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Education and the Shan State Government was held yesterday afternoon at Taunggyi University in Shan State. At the event, Information and Public Relations Department Director General U Maung Pe thanked the organisers of the event.

Officials presented awards and commemorative gifts to prize-winning students of the events and contests in the festival. There were eight winners each in the mid-level general debate, the pre-junior level storytelling contest, mid-level painting contest, mid-level paper folding contest, post primary-level story telling contest, pre-primary-level poem recitation contest, primary-level painting contest, primary-level paper folding contest and primary-level poem recitation contest.

Officials also presented documents of honour to contest judges, artists, cartoonists and members of organisations that participated and assisted in the festival, including the Myanmar Library Foundation, Shan State Advocate, Shan State Auditor, Taunggyi University, Technological University, Computer University, Shan State Police Force, basic education schools, health department, municipal, department of natural resources and environment, road transport administration, department of rural development, Myanmar Fire Department, Myanmar Printers and Publishers Association, Tharapa Library, Thabye Children’s Education and Health Support Group, Save The Library, Shanti Volunteer Association, Free Funeral Services Society (Yangon), Face Colouring Group,  Space and Universe Showroom, Kanbawza Youth Library, Kanbawza Brighter Future Myanmar Foundation, Naungtaung Welfare Monasteries of Hopong Township, private schools in Taunggyi, Kanbawa Education Yeiktha, private schools in Aungban, Pyinnya Pan Taing private high school, Premier Coffee, U Book Education Co., Galety Co. Mo Asia Co. United Parmaceutical Co., Cherry FM, Phyu Sin Co., Brain Works, Mega Myanmar Energy, Hepta Mix Creative Marketing Service and groups who helped and assisted the visitors.

The event was successfully concluded with the presence of the Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Linn Htut, state government members, ministers and departmental officials.
