Man escapes from five abductors in Maungtaw

A man escaped from five abductors in Maungtaw on 6th May by jumping into a creek and running away, according to local police yesterday.


Sweyuk Husaung, 30, was abducted by five men armed with machetes as he was walking along a creek in Kyeinchaung North Village in Maungtaw Township. When he was near Kyein Chaung market, the five men told him that they were sent by Zubai, a former member of Padaka Village administration committee to bring him.

Sweyuk Husaung maaged to jump into the creek and informed the case to a local police station.
