Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker visits Britain’s House of Commons

Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw U Win Myint, who is currently visiting the UK, met with Sir Edward Garnier, QC Barrister, MP, at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London Wednesday morning to discuss legal affairs.

Later, the delegation led by the speaker visited The House of Commons to view parliamentary proceedings, including responses of the British prime ministers and cabinet members to queries raised by MPs. During the session of the lower house of the parliament, the speaker of the House of Commons and Prime Minister Mrs. Theresa May formally extended greetings to the Myanmar delegation. The session was also attended by U Saw, Chairman of Pyithu Hluttaw Fundamental Rights of the Citizens, Democracy and Human Rights Committee and Hluttaw committee members.
