Two wounded in mine blasts

U Shan Lay of NamParChi village was ploughing the field on his farm to cultivate corn when he rolled over a land mine and was injured by shrapnel Tuesday morning in Kutkai Township in northern Shan State.

Similarly, U Myo Aung from Shwe Ku Township was going fishing at the Moe Kaung Creek when he walked on a land mine planted by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) 6,000 meters west of Shaduzut village, Tanaing Township on Friday afternoon. The extent of their injuries could not be determined. The Tatmadaw arranged for both victims to receive medical treatment at the respective township general hospitals.
