Four farmworkers wounded in land mine explosion

Four people were wounded on Sunday when they stepped on land mines as they were returning home Sunday afternoon from a farm where they worked in Myitkyina.



On the day of incident, the four people, including U Byar Lay of Shwe Set Ward, were working on a farm near Ma Le village about 32 miles southwest of Myitkyina. As they returned to Ma Le village, they stepped on two mines and were wounded by the subsequent explosion. The four victims are undergoing medical treatment at Myitkyina General Hospital with the assistance of Shwe Set Ward charity organisation.
