While
conducting an area clearance operation near Mongko yesterday morning,
government troops seized 10 hand grenades, one rocket, four cartridges for an
M-22, 120 bullets and a walkie-talkie hidden in a bush about three miles from
Phoungsai Village.
On
Wednesday evening, government troops found a motorcycle that was stopped by the
road about 7,000 metres from Mongngaw and conducted an investigation. While
conducting the investigation, two men tried to escape from the scene.
Government troops seized two improvised land mines and 20 feet of wire in a
bush nearby.
