In the early morning of
17th November, we visited the inspection toll gate at the exit
of town, where we found passenger buses from Maungtaw to Buthidaung, Cargo
Trucks, 3- wheel vehicles passing through the toll gate. Passengers and drivers
said they got less income due to less people travelling and they all wish for
peace to be established rapidly in their region.
“I just started my bus
run today. I came here from Buthidaung and I will run only one time today. I
had to carry rice and charcoal due to the few passengers in our car. Our income
is 10,000 or 15,000 Kyats per route. Previously, we got 30,000 or 40,000 Kyats
per route. Altogether 30 buses are running on Buthidaung- Maungtaw road” said
driver Ko Ye Htun Aung.
“I got only 6
passengers in my Express bus. They all are men. We collect 1,000 or 1200 Kyats
for a passenger depending on the distance. Now, we will run back from Maungtaw
to Buthidaung. We left Buthidaung in the morning. My native town is NgaKhuya
village. My parents are retired Government service personnel and my sisters are
teachers. We will go back to our home depending on the security conditions
in the area. This is my own bus. I possess 10 express buses” said local, Zin Ko
Nyein.
“Since early morning, I
left for Maungtaw carrying vegetable sellers from the villages. They sell their
local vegetables such as beans, pumpkins, chilies and egg plant to the
town dwellers in Maungtaw. I collect 600 Kyats per round trip for a passenger.
I earn 8,000 or 9,000 Kyats per day. Previously, I got more income due to
carrying goods on the return trip. Our region is close to town and a
little bit peaceful. That’s why, I can run my bus daily” said 3- wheel vehicle
driver Ko Kyaw Hla Thein from Lay Mile Magyigone village.
“I’m here to sell my
local vegetables and rice in the town. I have less demand than before. I bought
some necessary things from town for my house on my return trip. Our region is
more peaceful and stable than the northern part of Rakhine State” said Daw Mya
Hnit of Thone Mile Tharsi village.

ေမာင္ေတာၿမိဳ႕အထြက္ စစ္ေဆးေရးဂိတ္ကို ယေန႔နံနက္ပိုင္းတြင္ ေခတၱဝင္ေရာက္ ေလ့လာရာ ေမာင္ေတာႏွင့္ ဘူးသီးေတာင္ေျပးဆြဲသည့္ ခရီးသည္တင္ယာဥ္မ်ား၊ ကုန္ကားမ်ား၊ ေက်းရြာမ်ားမွ ေစ်းေရာင္းေစ်းဝယ္လာၾကသည့္ သုံးဘီးယာဥ္မ်ား မျပတ္ ျဖတ္သန္းသြားလာေနသည္ကိုေတြ႕ရၿပီး ယခင္ကထက္ သြားလာမႈနည္းပါး ေသးေၾကာင္း၊ ဝင္ေငြလည္း နည္းပါးသြားေၾကာင္းႏွင့္ အျမန္တည္ၿငိမ္ေအးခ်မ္းေစရန္ ဆႏၵရွိေၾကာင္း ခရီးသြားမ်ား၊ ယာဥ္ေမာင္းမ်ားက ေျပာျပသည္။
ဟိုင္းလတ္ခရီးသည္တင္ယာဥ္ေမာင္း ကိုရဲထြန္းေအာင္က '' ဒီေန႔မွ ကြၽန္ေတာ္က ျပန္ေျပး ဆြဲတာပါ။ ကြၽန္ေတာ္ အခု မနက္ ဘူးသီးေတာင္ကေန ထြက္လာတာပါ။ ဒီေန႔တစ္ေခါက္ပဲ ဆြဲျဖစ္မွာပါ။ ခရီးသည္က အရင္ေလာက္မမ်ားေတာ့ ‘ဒီတစ္ေခါက္ ေတာင္ ဆန္နဲ႔ မီးေသြးတင္ လာရပါတယ္။ တစ္ေခါက္ကို ေငြက်ပ္တစ္ေသာင္း၊ တစ္ေသာင္းခြဲေလာက္ပဲ ရပါတယ္။ အရင္က ေတာ့ တစ္ေန႔ကို ေငြက်ပ္ သုံးေလး ငါးေသာင္းအထိ ရပါတယ္။ ဘူးသီးေတာင္ - ေမာင္ေတာ ေျပးဆြဲတာက စုစုေပါင္း ယာဥ္အစီး ၃ဝ ေလာက္ ရွိပါတယ္'' ဟု ေျပာသည္။
''ဒီေန႔ ကြၽန္ေတာ့္မွန္လုံကားမွာ ခရီးသည္ ေျခာက္ေယာက္ပဲ ပါပါတယ္။ အသြား အလာနည္း ၾကေသးပါတယ္။ အခုပါလာတဲ့ ခရီးသည္ေတာင္ အမ်ိဳးသားေတြခ်ည္းပါ။ တစ္ေယာက္ကို ခရီးစဥ္အေပၚ မူတည္ၿပီး ေငြက်ပ္ ၁ဝဝဝ- ၁၂ဝဝ ယူပါတယ္။ ကြၽန္ေတာ္ က အခု ေမာင္ေတာ ကေန ဘူးသီးေတာင္ကို ျပန္မွာပါ။ မနက္က ဘူးသီးေတာင္ကေန ထြက္လာတာပါ။ ကြၽန္ေတာ္က ငါးခူရ ဇာတိပါ။ မိဘေတြက ဝန္ထမ္းအၿငိမ္းစားေတြ ျဖစ္ၿပီး အစ္မေတြက ေက်ာင္းဆရာမပါ။ ငါးခူရကို နယ္ေျမအေျခ အေနအေပၚ မူတည္ၿပီး ျပန္သြားမွာပါ။ ‘ဒါက ကြၽန္ေတာ့္ကိုယ္ပိုင္ကားပါ။ ‘ဒီလို မွန္လုံယာဥ္ခရီးသည္တင္ အျမန္ယာဥ္ ၁ဝ စီးေလာက္ရွိပါတယ္'' ဟု ကိုဇင္ကိုၿငိမ္းက ေျပာသည္။
ေလးမိုင္ မက်ီးကုန္းေက်းရြာမွ သုံးဘီးယာဥ္ေမာင္း ကိုေက်ာ္လွသိန္းက '' ဒီေန႔ နံနက္ ေစာေစာ ကတည္းက ရြာက ဟင္းသီးဟင္းရြက္ ေရာင္းဝယ္မယ့္သူေတြနဲ႔ ေမာင္ေတာကို တက္လာတာပါ။ ပဲ၊ ဖ႐ုံ၊ င႐ုတ္၊ ခရမ္းသီး စတဲ့ ဟင္းသီးဟင္းရြက္ေတြ ကို ကြၽန္ေတာ္တို႔ရြာကေန ‘ဒီမွာ လာေရာင္းတာပါ။ အသြားအျပန္ တစ္ေယာက္ကို ေငြက်ပ္ ၆ဝဝ ယူပါတယ္။ တစ္ေန႔ ဆီဖိုးႏုတ္ၿပီး ကြၽန္ေတာ့္အတြက္ ေငြက်ပ္ ၈ဝဝဝ၊ ၉ဝဝဝ ေလာက္ေတာ့ က်န္ပါတယ္။ အရင္ကဆို ၿမိဳ႕ေပၚအျပန္ ကုန္လည္းပါေတာ့ ဒီထက္ ပိုက္ဆံပိုရပါတယ္။ ကြၽန္ေတာ္တို႔ေဒသက ၿမိဳ႕နဲ႔လည္းနီးၿပီး အထိုက္ အေလ်ာက္ ေအးခ်မ္းမႈရွိတာမို႔ ေန႔တိုင္း ေျပးဆြဲေပးပါတယ္'' ဟု ေျပာသည္။
''ကြၽန္မက ရြာမွာ စိုက္ပ်ိဳးတဲ့ အသီးအႏွံေတြနဲ႔ စပါးေလးနည္းနည္း ၿမိဳ႕ေပၚ သြားေရာင္းတာပါ။ အရင္ကလို ေရာင္းမေကာင္းေသးပါဘူး။ စပါးေစ်းကလည္း အရင္လို မဟုတ္ဘူး။ အျပန္မွာ ၿမိဳ႕ေပၚက အိမ္မွာ လိုတဲ့ပစၥည္းေလး နည္းနည္းျပန္ ဝယ္လာ ပါတယ္။ ကြၽန္မတို႔ေဒသမွာ ဟိုေျမာက္ ပိုင္းေဒသ ေတြလို မဟုတ္ပါဘူး။ တည္တည္ ၿငိမ္ၿငိမ္ေအးေအးခ်မ္းခ်မ္းပါပဲ'' ဟု သုံးမိုင္သာစည္ေက်းရြာမွ ေဒၚျမႏွစ္က ေျပာသည္။
