Free winnowing provided for the convenience of local farmers in Maungtaw

The Rakhine social-economic development group (ART) is helping monsoon paddy winnowing to reduce the cost to famers who are running agricultural tasks in the townships and villages of Maungtaw.

Chairman of the ART, U Ba Aye said, “We are giving a helping hand to local farmers in ethnic villages to reduce their farming costs and make it easier in harvesting and winnowing. We are helping local ethnic villages in Maungtaw as much as possible. More than 150 bundles of sheaf of paddy are winnowed per day. This winnowing machine reduces not only financial cost but also time.”

Locals can enjoy their fruitful results through this free support such as timely rice production and lower costs as they have to pay only 10,000 kyats for the cost of engine oil and the wage for a worker per day.  

“The assistance of the Team is convenient for us like it was with farmers who have no cattle. Last year, we rented cattle from others for harvesting and winnowing. It takes time to finish agricultural tasks for one acre. This machine helps reduce cost, labour as well as saves time. We don’t worry about rain or wind”, said U Kyaw Aye Tha from Tha Yay Kone Baung village in the southern part of Maung Taw.

The ART is working in ethnic villages such as Kin Chaung, Aung Zeya, Tha Yay Kone Baung, Kha Yay Myaing, Kaing Gyi, Maw Rawadi, Wai Thali, Shwe Baho, U Daung (San Pya) and new Tha Yay Kone Baung villages in the southern and northern parts of Maung Taw District.

“We have helped ploughing since last year. We started to assist winnowing this year. We have rented a machine operator for winnowing. But the farmers have to pay the wage for machine operator and the cost of engine oil. Our team is also helping as much as possible. We have a plan to provide more assistance as needed”, Chairman of ART U Ba Aye said.

Local farmer U Aung Tha Kyaw from Aung Zeya village said, “I have many paddy acres. This year, we have grown paddy in 15-acres. It is not my turn for winnowing machine. I have already put my name down for the machine. Currently, we are winnowing with the help of cattle. If we use a machine, we don’t need the ground for threshing paddy. If we winnow with cattle, we need threshing ground.  The machine saves time. If we have this, it is more convenient.”

“ေဒသခံတိုင္းရင္းသားေက်း႐ြာ လယ္ယာလုပ္ငန္းလုပ္ကိုင္တဲ့သူေတြကို ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔အဖြဲ႕အေနနဲ႔ သူတို႔တစ္ေတြ ေငြေၾကးကုန္က်မႈ သက္သာေစဖို႔နဲ႔ လုပ္ငန္းခြင္အဆင္ေျပဖို႔ အခုရိတ္သိမ္းေနတဲ့ မိုးစပါးကို လတ္တေလာေႁခြေလွ႔မႈအပိုင္းမွာ အခမဲ့ကူညီေဆာင္႐ြက္ေပးေနတာပါ။ အတတ္ႏိုင္ဆုံး ေမာင္ေတာၿမိဳ႕နယ္ ေဒသခံတိုင္းရင္းသားေက်း႐ြာေတြကို လက္လွမ္းမီသေလာက္ ေဆာင္႐ြက္ေပး ေနပါတယ္။ တစ္ေန႔ကိုေကာက္လိုင္းစည္းအနည္းဆုံးအစည္း၁၅၀ ေက်ာ္ေတာ့ၿပီးပါတယ္။ ဒီေႁခြေလွ႔စက္နဲ႔က ေငြေၾကးကုန္က်မႈတင္မကဘဲအခ်ိန္ကုန္က်မႈအပိုင္းမွာလည္း အမ်ားႀကီး သက္သာပါတယ္”ဟု ရခိုင္ လူမႈစီးပြားဖြံ႕ ၿဖိဳးတိုးတက္ေရးအဖြဲ႕ (ART) မွဥကၠ႒ ဦးဘေအးက ေျပာၾကားသည္။

ရခိုင္လူမႈစီးပြားဖြံ႕ ၿဖိဳးတိုးတက္ေရးအဖြဲ႕ (ART)က လတ္တေလာအေကာင္အထည္ေဖာ္ ေဆာင္ ႐ြက္ေပးေနေသာေဒသခံေတာင္သူမ်ား အခမဲ့ စပါးေႁခြေလွ႔မႈတြင္ တစ္ရက္ စက္သုံးဆီေငြက်ပ္ တစ္ေသာင္းႏွင့္ အလုပ္သမားတစ္ဦးတစ္ေန႔တာလုပ္အားခသာေပးေဆာင္ရျခင္းေၾကာင့္ ေဒသခံ ေတာင္သူမ်ားအေနျဖင့္ ယခင္ကဲ့သို႔ ကၽြဲ၊ ႏြားတို႔ျဖင့္ စပါးေႁခြေလွ႔မႈမ်ိဳးမွ ကင္းလြတ္ခဲ့ၿပီး အခ်ိန္ႏွင့္ တစ္ေျပးညီ လုပ္ေဆာင္ႏိုင္သည့္ အက်ိဳးရလဒ္မ်ားရရွိခံစားရၿပီးဆန္အျဖစ္သို႔ ေဆာလ်င္စြာ ေျပာင္းလဲႏိုင္ေၾကာင္း သိရသည္။

“အခုလို လူမႈစီးပြားဖြံ႕ ၿဖိဳးတိုးတက္ ေရးအဖြဲ႕က ကူညီေတာ့ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔လိုကၽြဲ၊ ႏြားမရွိတဲ့ ေတာင္သူေတြအတြက္ပိုအဆင္ေျပပါတယ္။ မႏွစ္ကဆို စပါးႏွယ္၊ ေႁခြေလွ႔တာကအစ သူမ်ားဆီကကၽြဲ၊ ႏြားငွားၿပီးလုပ္ခဲ့ရတယ္။ အဲဒီလိုငွားရမ္းလုပ္ရတာက သူတို႔အားမွ အသုံးျပဳ လို႔ရတာျဖစ္ေတာ့ စပါးတစ္ဧကၿပီးဖို႔ဆိုတာ ရက္ေတာ္ေတာ္ေလး ၾကာျမင့္ခဲ့ပါတယ္။ အခုလိုစက္နဲ႔ ေႁခြေလွ႔ရတာဆိုေတာ့ ကုန္က်စရိတ္သာမက လူလည္းသက္သာ၊ အခ်ိန္လည္း သိပ္အၾကာႀကီး မေစာင့္ရေတာ့ လုပ္ငန္းခြင္အျမန္ၿပီးစီးတာေပါ့။ ၿပီးေတာ့ မိုး၊ ေလလည္း မေၾကာက္ရေတာ့ဘူး”ဟု စက္ျဖင့္စပါးေႁခြေလွ႔ေနသည့္ ေမာင္ေတာေတာင္ပိုင္း သေရကုန္းေဘာင္ေက်း႐ြာမွ ဦးေက်ာ္ေအး သာက ေျပာၾကားသည္။

ရခိုင္လူမႈစီးပြားဖြံ႕ ၿဖိဳးတိုးတက္ေရးအဖြဲ႕ (ART)က လတ္တေလာ အခမဲ့စပါးေႁခြေလွ႔မႈ လုပ္ငန္း မ်ားကို ေမာင္ေတာခ႐ိုင္ေတာင္ပိုင္းႏွင့္ ေျမာက္ပိုင္းအတြင္းရွိေဒသခံတိုင္းရင္းသား ေက်း႐ြာမ်ား ျဖစ္ေသာ ကင္းေခ်ာင္း၊ ေအာင္ေဇယ်၊သေရကုန္းေဘာင္၊ ခေရၿမိဳင္၊ ကိုင္းႀကီး၊ေမာရ၀တီ၊ ေဝသာလီ၊ ေ႐ႊဗဟိုလ္၊ဥေဒါင္း(စံျပ)ႏွင့္ သေရကုန္းေဘာင္(သစ္) စသည့္ေက်း႐ြာမ်ား၌ စပါးေႁခြေလွ႔စက္မ်ားျဖင့္ အခမဲ့ငွားရမ္းလုပ္ကိုင္ေပးလ်က္ရွိသည္။

“ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔က အခုလို အခမဲ့ေႁခြေလွ႔ေပးတဲ့ လုပ္ငန္းသာမဟုတ္ဘဲလယ္ထြန္ေပးတာကိုလည္း ၂၀၁၅ ခုႏွစ္ကတည္းကစၿပီး လုပ္ေပးခဲ့ပါတယ္။ေႁခြေလွ႔ေပးတဲ့ လုပ္ငန္းကေတာ့ ဒီႏွစ္မွစခဲ့တာပါ။ ေႁခြေလွ႔စက္ေတြကိုေတာ့ေတာင္သူေတြလက္ထဲ အပ္လိုက္တာမဟုတ္ပါဘူး။ ကၽြမ္းက်င္တဲ့ စက္ဆရာ ငွားရမ္းထားပါတယ္။ အဲဒီစက္ဆရာလုပ္ခနဲ႔ စက္ဆီဖိုးေတာ့ သူတို႔ခံရတာေပါ့။ ဒါေတြကလည္း ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔အဖြဲ႕အေနနဲ႔ တတ္ႏိုင္တာေလးေတြကို ကူညီလုပ္ေဆာင္ ေပးတာျဖစ္တယ္။ ေမာင္ေတာေဒသခံေတာင္သူေတြ အဆင္ေျပေအာင္ေတာ့ တစ္ခုၿပီးတစ္ခု အဆက္မျပတ္လုပ္ေဆာင္ေပးသြားဖို႔ရွိပါတယ္” ဟုဦးဘေအးက ေျပာသည္။ ေအာင္ေဇယ် ေက်း႐ြာမွ ေဒသခံေတာင္သူ ဦးေအာင္သာေက်ာ္ကလည္း“ကၽြန္ေတာ္က စပါးဧကမ်ားပါတယ္။ ဒီႏွစ္ စပါးစိုက္တာ စုစုေပါင္း ၁၅ ဧကေလာက္ရွိမယ္။ ေလာေလာဆယ္ေတာ့ေႁခြေလွ႔စက္က အလွည့္မက်ေသးဘူး။ စာရင္းေတာ့ေပးထားပါတယ္။ အလွည့္က်ရင္ေတာ့ ဆက္သြယ္မယ္ ေျပာတယ္။ အခုေလာေလာဆယ္ေတာ့ ႏြားနဲ႔ပဲ စပါးႏွယ္ေနရတယ္။ စက္နဲ႔ဆိုရင္ တစ္ခု ေကာင္းတာက စပါးတလင္းလုပ္စရာမလိုဘူး။ ကၽြဲ၊ ႏြားနဲ႔ ႏွယ္တဲ့အလုပ္ကေတာ့စပါးတလင္းရွိမွ အဆင္ေျပတာပါ။ ၿပီးေတာ့ ေလွ႔ဦး၊ ျပာဦးနဲ႔ အလုပ္႐ႈပ္တာေပါ့။ စက္နဲ႔ကေတာ့ အလုပ္လည္း နည္းတယ္။ အခ်ိန္လည္း သက္သာပါတယ္။ အခုလို ကူညီေပးတဲ့အဖြဲ႕ေတြမ်ားရင္ေတာ့ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ ေတာင္သူေတြအတြက္ ပိုအဆင္ေျပတာေပါ့” ဟုေျပာၾကားသည္။
