The 1st Myanmar-US Partnership
meeting between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar and the State
Department of the United States of America was held in the Ayeyawady Hall of
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The meeting was attended by the
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs U Kyaw Tin, Permanent Secretaries,
Directors-General and senior officials from various ministries on the Myanmar
side while U.S. Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Scot Marciel, US Deputy Assistant Secretary
of State for Southeast Asia, Mr Patrick Murphy and responsible officials on the
US side.
During the meeting, both sides
discussed matters on the promotion of bilateral relations and cooperation
between Myanmar and the US including cooperation in trade and investment
sector, health and education sector, tourism sector, combating drugs and human
trafficking and capacity building for government officials.
