THE Central Executive Committee Meeting of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) was held yesterday afternoon at its meeting hall in Yangon.
It
was attended by UMFCCI President U Aye Win, vice-presidents, the general
secretary, the joint general secretaries, and committee members.
In
his opening remarks, the UMFCCI president stated that the honour ceremony held
on 22 October in Nay Pyi Taw to recognize the growers, producers, exporters,
and sellers of “Myanmar Pawsan”— which won the World’s Best Rice Award 2026 —
was a crucial initiative that effectively supports the expansion of an
essential national product into international markets.
Furthermore,
he urged that this success was achieved through the collaborative efforts of
all stakeholders, and if other associations work together like the Myanmar Rice
Federation, they will be able to create promising potential and progress.
He
also highlighted the constructive collaboration discussed with Malaysian
entrepreneurs during the bilateral business dialogue held early last month,
noting how current trends are shifting beyond mere cross-border trade towards
models based on combining complementary strengths between both countries.
Afterwards, attendees discussed plans to grandly hold UMFCCI’s 35th Annual
General Meeting.
