Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker receives Kayan’s high school teachers, students

 

PYITHU Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi met teachers and students from No 1 and 2 Basic Education High Schools, Kayan Township, Yangon Region, who visited the Hluttaw, at the Hluttaw building in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

During the meeting, the Speaker explained the structure and functions of the Hluttaw, including lawmaking, oversight and public representation. He said the Hluttaw reviews existing laws to ensure they remain relevant, exercises checks and balances through coordination among the three pillars, and raises public concerns through parliamentary questions and motions.

He also highlighted the Hluttaw’s cooperation with relevant departments to promote education and ensure access to schooling for all school-age children. He encouraged the students to study diligently and strive to become skilled professionals and responsible citizens who can contribute to the country’s future.

Teachers and students then raised questions, which the Speaker answered in detail.
