THE Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) and six member companies participated in the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) held in Nanning from 17 to 21 September, showcasing approximately 30 rice varieties, including Pawsan rice, Aemahta rice, Ngasein and value-added products.
Six-member companies (Shwe Wah Yaung
Agriculture Production Co Ltd, Good Brothers’ Co Ltd, Wilmar Myanmar Riceland
Limited, Aung Naing Thit Sar Co Ltd, Vivo Group, and Benchmark Marine &
Agro Exports Co Ltd) joined the Myanmar Pavilion Rice exhibition. During the
expo, three-member companies signed five MOUs in their respective sectors,
according to the MRF announcement.
A delegation including the Myanmar
Vice-President, the Union minister for Commerce, and the deputy minister for
Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, accompanied by officials concerned, the
Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and
Industry (UMFCCI) president and vice-presidents and representatives of
affiliated associations visited the exhibition on 17 September. The MRF
president and company officials welcomed the delegation and provided briefings.
The exhibition booths attracted daily
visits from Chinese rice traders, companies, and researchers. MRF officials
outlined the quality and pricing of Myanmar rice, highlighted the varieties
most imported by China, and detailed valueadded products derived from rice.
