Myanmar's Team Zanaka won the gold medal in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports event at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Japan after defeating Indonesia 4-0 in the final on 1 October.
Competing at the Asian Games for the first time, Team Zanaka topped Group A after defeating Uzbekistan and Hong Kong SAR 2-0. The team then beat Cambodia 2-1 in the quarter-final and Malaysia 2-0 in the semi-final to reach the final.
In the final, Team Zanaka dominated
Indonesia, which had advanced past the Philippines, Mongolia and Hong Kong SAR,
securing a comprehensive 4-0 victory and Myanmar's first-ever Asian Games MLBB

The victory also marks Myanmar's
first Asian Games gold medal in esports and adds to the country's overall Asian
Games medal tally of 17 gold, 28 silver and 57 bronze medals, totalling 102
medals since the 1951 New Delhi Asian Games.
MESF Chairman Dr Kaung Myat San
expressed his pride in the historic achievement, saying that the gold medal
represented not only the success of Team Zanaka but also a milestone for
Myanmar's esports community. He also thanked supporters, fans, sponsors and the
athletes' families for their encouragement.
The achievement marks Myanmar's
