ACCORDING to discussions at a coordination meeting between the Central Bank of Myanmar and the Myanmar Banks Association, a comprehensive digital platform will be established to facilitate the disbursement of agricultural loans to the farming sector.
The
discussions focused on supporting agricultural and livestock development
through the financial sector, issuing relevant directives on agricultural and
livestock loan requirements, providing financial support, establishing an
agriculture-based blended finance framework, developing a comprehensive
digital platform for the seamless disbursement of agricultural loans, and
advancing digital payment systems.
Furthermore,
the Central Bank of Myanmar and the Myanmar Banks Association discussed the
five-year implementation plans covering the 2026-2027 financial year through
the 2030-2031 financial year, including annual implementation targets,
financing and funding arrangements, performance indicators and responsible
organizations.
The
coordination meeting was attended by Central Bank of Myanmar Governor Dr Khin
Naing Oo, deputy governors and directors-general, as well as the Chairman of
the Myanmar Banks Association and representatives from member banks.
