UNION Minister U Maung Myint for Culture, Hotels and Tourism said that Familiarization Trips (FAM Trips) could be organized for Vietnamese travel companies and media representatives and that they could be invited to visit Myanmar’s prominent tourist destinations. By experiencing these destinations firsthand, visitors would be able to see for themselves the beauty and scenic attractions of Myanmar’s tourist destinations, their safety and security, and the country’s abundant natural resources, thereby gaining a better understanding of Myanmar’s actual situation and feeling confident about visiting the country.
He made the remarks at a coordination meeting on promoting tourism between Myanmar and Vietnam, held at the Jade Hall of the Ministry yesterday afternoon.
Deputy minister U Phyo Zaw Soe discussed measures to further promote tourism between Myanmar and Vietnam, opportunities for greater cooperation between tourism entrepreneurs from the two countries, and ways to raise awareness among Vietnamese travellers and encourage more of them to visit Myanmar.
Honorary Consul of the Embassy of Vietnam in Myanmar Ms Le Nguyen Ngoc Trinh, who attended the meeting online, together with representatives from Vietnamese travel companies and Vietnam Airlines, shared suggestions and discussed ways to promote tourism cooperation between the two countries. Departmental officials and business people, discussed measures related to their respective sectors.
