Falam conducts weekly cleanup campaign

 

AS rehabilitation work continues in Falam, Chin State, departmental teams are conducting weekly cleanup activities to maintain a clean, pleasant and attractive urban environment in line with the city’s characteristics.

Yesterday morning, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thant Zaw Lwin, together with Chin State Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Win Zaw Oo and members of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee, inspected the cleanup activities along Vankao Road in Cinmual Ward, where roadside bushes were cleared, and along Taungzalat Road, where rubbish was removed.

The team also inspected collective cleaning activities along the stairway and within the precincts of the Yanpyay Manpyay Naingngan Aye Aungtawmu Pagoda. The Deputy Minister provided supplies to 256 personnel from local police, fire services and departmental teams who participated in the voluntary cleanup activities.

Yesterday, the deputy minister and his team visited the Saint Joseph Self-Reliant Preschool in Phahtauk Ward and observed the provision of nutritious meals to preschool children. They also donated financial assistance and teaching aids provided by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement to the preschool through responsible officials.

The team then inspected rehabilitation work at the district office building and staff housing of the Fisheries Department, as well as renovation work at the district office building of the Bureau of Special Investigation. They coordinated with relevant officials to address requirements, according to the report.
