AS of 31 July 2026, 650 loan applications had been received, and 281 have been approved for a total of K10.64 billion from the MSME development fund. The remaining applicants are under review.
Loans
are disbursed through the Myanma Economic Bank, the Myanma Agricultural
Development Bank, and 16 private banks.
The
government has allocated K150 billion from its K170-billion MSME development
fund for direct lending to micro, small, and medium enterprises, with the
remaining K20 billion set aside for sector development activities, according to
the MSME Fund Management Committee of the Financial Regulatory Department.
Small
and micro enterprises are eligible for up to K50 million, while medium-sized
businesses are entitled to apply for up to K100 million. Interest rates are set
at three per cent per annum for machinery purchases and four per cent per annum
for raw materials and working capital.
