NPT herbal park to support MDY traditional medicine production

 

The Nay Pyi Taw National Herbal Park, located in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, has been established to supply raw materials to traditional medicine factories in Mandalay, according to the Department of Traditional Medicine under the Ministry of Health.

The park contains more than 50,000 medicinal plants and is one of the nine medicinal gardens in Myanmar. It also preserves more than 460 medicinal plant species and maintains seedlings for propagation.

The park collects, cultivates, propagates, and exhibits medicinal plants from various states and regions across the country.

The Department of Traditional Medicine under the Ministry of Health opened the park in 2008, and the ministry oversees the management of its 73.4-acre area.
