Mr Tor Saralamba, who has been agreed to be appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, presented his Letter of Credence to President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing at the Credentials Hall of the Presidential Palace Reception Hall in Nay Pyi Taw at 11 am yesterday.
The Ambassador of
Thailand arrived at the Honorary Hall of the Presidential Palace Reception Hall
and saluted the national flags of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the
Kingdom of Thailand. The Thai Ambassador took the salute from the Guard of Honour,
which played the national anthems of the two countries.
The Thai Ambassador
presented his Letter of Credence to President U Min Aung Hlaing at the
Presidential Palace Diplomatic Reception Hall.
The President and the
Ambassador cordially discussed the exchange of State-level goodwill visits
between Myanmar and Thailand, the strengthening of good diplomatic relations,
friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Thailand, and the inseparable mutual
understanding and trust-based neighbourly relations between Myanmar and
Thailand.
They also exchanged views
on the prospects to enhance cooperation in trade and investment sectors between
the two countries, the promotion of cooperation in efforts to develop the
border trade and ensure security, peace and stability in border regions, the
progress of multiparty democratic initiatives the people aspire to, and plans
for continued leverage of friendly ties and cooperation.
After the meeting, the
President and the Thai Ambassador posed for a documentary photo.
Also present at the
ceremony were Union Minister at the President’s Office U Khin Maung Yi, Union
Minister for Foreign Affairs U Tin Maung Swe, Director-General of the Protocol
Department U Thet Tun, and the Thai Ambassador to Myanmar, his wife and officials.
The Ambassador of
Thailand to Myanmar signed the Guestbook at the Presidential Palace Reception
Hall.
