Myanmar, Russia to further cement cooperation and friendly relations between Hluttaws

 

President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing, currently in Moscow of the Russian Federation to pay an Official Visit, held a meeting with Mr Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, at the building of the State Duma at 10 am local standard time yesterday.

The meeting was also attended by U Khin Maung Yi, U Tin Maung Swe, Dr Chaw Chaw Sein, Dr Thet Khaing Win and U Ko Ko Lwin, who accompanied the President, Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation U Myo Moe Aung and officials. The Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation was accompanied by Vice-Chair of the State Duma Mr Sholban Kara-Ool and officials from the Duma committees.

The President and party were welcomed by the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation at the building of the State Duma.

At the meeting, the President of Myanmar and the Chairman of the State Duma frankly discussed the plans to further strengthen friendly ties, bilateral trust and cooperation between parliaments which are legislative pillers of both countries, more improvement of friendship between the two countries and peoples of both countries through the inter-parliamentary cooperation, progress of relations between the two countries based on equality, mutual respects and non-interference in internal affairs, situations to exchange goodwill visits between the Hluttaws to share experiences, successful holding of a fair and prestigious election in Myanmar, efforts of Hluttaws participated by people’s representatives and the government democratically elected in carrying out national development, peace and stability measures in order to practically implement the people’s desires, endeavours of the government to firmly initiate the democratic process, observation of election observation teams from international community including those from Russia at the election held in Myanmar, showing their findings for the free and fair election, the plans to further cement cooperation and friendly relations between Hluttaws from both countries, and continuous enhancement of friendship and cooperation in multiple sectors between the two countries.

After the meeting, the President of Myanmar cordially greeted the Chairman of the State Duma and the party.
