Myanmar Opens Embassy in Belarus to Enhance Bilateral Ties

Those serving at the embassy need to make efforts to ensure the success of the cooperative activities being carried out between the two countries, said President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing on his official visit to Minsk, the Republic of Belarus, while meeting with families of the Myanmar Embassy in Belarus and trainees at Double Tree by Hilton Hotel yesterday evening.

At the meeting, the President stated that the friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Belarus have advanced further, and the Embassy of Myanmar has also been established in Belarus as an enhancement of bilateral diplomatic relations.

He noted that as Myanmar is a country that primarily focuses on agriculture and livestock-based production industries, cooperating with Belarus will greatly contribute to the development of science and technology as well as the progress of the agriculture and livestock sector in Myanmar.

The President outlined that Belarus boasts advanced agricultural machinery and highly modern, successful livestock sectors capable of exporting products internationally. Given Myanmar’s similar foundation in agriculture and livestock, the two nations share fundamentally aligned economic interests.

In order to further enhance relations with Belarus, he stated that the roadmap on enhancing cooperation between Myanmar and Belarus (2026-2028) is being implemented, and those serving at the embassy need to make efforts to ensure the success of the cooperative activities being carried out between our two countries.

The President urged scholarship students currently studying in Belarus to systematically learn their respective subjects so that they can apply them back for the benefit of the country. The President presented foodstuffs and cash awards to embassy families and scholarship trainees.
