Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Ko Ko Lwin, who is accompanying President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing on an official visit to Belarus, held talks with Belarusian Minister of Energy Mr Moroz Denis at the Ministry of Energy in Minsk yesterday evening.
During the
meeting, the two sides exchanged views on cooperation in providing technology
and investment for the construction of petrochemical plants, including
fertilizer factories; upgrading the natural gas distribution pipeline network
to reduce and eliminate gas losses; and providing technological assistance for
the development of smart power generation and smart grid systems to enable the
systematic control and management of electricity generation and transmission.
They also
discussed cooperation in manufacturing cables and related equipment for
high-voltage transmission lines, as well as human resource development in the
electricity and energy sectors through training programmes at schools and
universities.
In addition,
the two sides exchanged views on cooperation in energy security between the two
countries.
