UNDER the close supervision of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee in Chin State, rehabilitation and reconstruction work in Falam is currently underway at a rapid pace.
With
the National Disaster Management Fund, solar power is being installed in Falam
district and township-level departments in line with the prioritized office
work. Falam district police headquarters and township education head offices
are now being operated with 6 kV solar power.
The
6-kW solar power system will be sufficient to operate five sets of office
computers and printers, 20 20-watt bulbs, and other electrical equipment with a
combined capacity of about 1,000 watts. Deputy Minister for Border Affairs
Maj-Gen Kyaw Swa Oo inspected the installation and reconstruction work of the
solar power installation in Falam Township.
The
deputy minister also inspected the COVID-19 vaccination of 240 departmental
staff at the district and township levels at the city hall. The deputy minister
also inspected the renovation of the District Forest Department Head Office, the
No 2 Basic Education High School and No 1 Basic Education High School, which
were damaged due to the violence, as well as instructed the school buildings to
be maintained and repaired in the original form.
Similarly,
U Zaw Naing Oo, Chairman of the Tiddim Township Rehabilitation and
Reconstruction Working Committee, inspected the Tiddim Township Police Station,
which was partially damaged due to the violence, the 100-bed Tiddim Township
Hospital; the Women’s Domestic Science Training School, the dining hall and the
two-story dormitory for trainees, the ground maintenance and wall painting
work, and the cleaning work carried out by the development committee along the
Tiddim-Nginhnon road.
In
addition, the Secretary of the Tonzang Township Rehabilitation and Reconstruction
Committee along with committee members, inspected the partially damaged
departmental buildings, such as the two-room staff housing at the television
broadcasting station, the youth training school student dormitory, the store,
and the dining hall.
