The Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, who attended the 9th Thailand-Myanmar High-Level Committee Meeting, visited the Temple of Emerald Buddha in Bangkok, Thailand, yesterday morning.

The General offered flowers and paid homage to the Buddha Image in the Temple of Emerald Buddha and made donations.

The General and party also visited the National Aviation Museum of the Royal Thai Air Force in Don Mueang Province in the afternoon. They observed aircraft, fighters, helicopters and special aircraft for Royal Thai families, air force communication equipment, and the evolution of weaponry and uniforms at the museum.

The National Aviation Museum of the Royal Thai Air Force is located at the Don Mueang Royal Thai Air Force Base in Don Mueang Province, Bangkok, Thailand. It was established in 1952 with the aim of collecting, preserving, and restoring various aircraft and other aviation equipment used by the Royal Thai Air Force. It is known to exhibit Thailand’s first locally designed and manufactured bomber, the Baribatra Bomber; rare World War II-era military aircraft such as the world’s last remaining Curtiss Hawk III and Tachikawa Ki-36; fighter aircraft including the F-5A, F-16A, and Gripen; military helicopters; and transport aircraft. The museum also displays airbase equipment, pilots’ uniforms across various eras, military communication devices, and features an aviation library.

On the afternoon of 20 August, the General and party visited the Royal Thai Armed Forces Development Headquarters in Bangkok. The director-general of the headquarters extended greetings, and a documentary video clip on the headquarters’ history was screened. The General and party viewed the booths at the headquarters.

Daw Nilar, the wife of the General, also visited the Veterans General Hospital in Bangkok on 19 August. Officials presented the history of the hospital, medical treatment and work procedures through a video clip. She also observed wooden sculptures and Thai traditional Oshie artworks.

Operating under the War Veterans Organization of Thailand (WVO), the hospital was established in 1970 to systematically provide medical treatment and rehabilitation support to war veterans injured in conflicts and in the line of duty, disabled comrades, and their family members.
