The land resources must be conducted fairly with effective management for the development of the nation, said Vice-President U Nyo Saw, who chairs the National Land Utilization Council, at the first meeting of the council held at the Forest Department in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
At
the meeting, the Vice-President emphasized the drafting and approving a
national land law which can adjust the provisions of the existing law,
effective implementation of the national land utilization policy approved on 28
January 2016, implementation of the National Land Law as an umbrella law to
control the differences of the relevant land management laws, reconstitution of
the Nay Pyi Taw, region and state land utilization committees, collection of
land utilization data, maps and records, formation of the working committees,
working groups to assist in drafting the national land utilization plan and
land utilization zones, and efforts to create links among the agricultural
development, boosting production and markets.
He
also urged all to contribute recommendations and engage in discussions in the
interest of the State and the people, to effectively carry out operational
duties, establish short- and long-term strategies, tactics, and action plans,
draft and enact the National Land Law, and develop a sound land resource
governance and management system.
Council
Secretary Union Minister U Hsan Oo reported on duties and functions of the
council and land utilization efforts.
Union
ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, deputy ministers and chief
ministers of regions and states who are council members participated in
discussions on land utilization measures in regions and states.
