The opening ceremony of the Shwemyoh 15 MW solar power plant, implemented by Golden City Solar Power Co Ltd, was held in Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, yesterday morning.
Union
Minister for Electricity and Energy U Ko Ko Lwin attended the ceremony and
pressed a button to connect the electricity generated by the solar power plant
and the electricity stored in the Battery Energy Storage System to the national
grid, marking the start of electricity generation.
The
Union minister said that the Shwemyoh 15 MW solar power plant, inaugurated
within a year and equipped with an Energy Storage System to support stable
power distribution, would contribute to a more reliable electricity supply. He
added that the government would further upgrade the Phase II 25 MW and Phase
III 30 MW projects with the latest technologies. As solar projects can be
completed quickly and play an important role in meeting urgent electricity
needs, collective efforts are required to complete them successfully within the
stipulated time frame.
The
power plant area and the construction sites of the Phase II and Phase III
projects were inspected, according to the reports.
