Authorities have demolished another illegal eight-storey building in the Shwe Kokko area of Myawady Township, Kayin State, which had been used for online scam and illegal gambling activities.
Combined teams of
relevant departments have been carrying out the systematic demolition of
illegal buildings and the destruction of equipment used in online scam
operations in the Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas.
Of the 77 buildings
identified in Shwe Kokko as being used for such activities, 57 were designated
for demolition using heavy machinery and 20 for controlled demolition. The
latest eight-storey building was one of the 20 selected for controlled
demolition.
According to reports,
71 illegal buildings have been demolished, and the remaining six will be
demolished in due course.
