Hluttaw leaders meet MCC peace committee

 

PYIDAUNGSU Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe and Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi met a delegation from the Peace Support Central Committee of the Myanmar Council of Churches after the eighth day of the second regular session of the Third Pyidaungsu Hluttaw.

The delegation, led by Central Committee member Reverend Dr Maurice Lyan Na and Joint Secretary 1 Reverend U Saw Chit Myo, briefed the speakers on religious affairs, the committee’s peace initiatives and nationwide prayer activities for peace.

The speakers expressed their appreciation for the committee’s efforts, stressing that peace is essential for national development. They also outlined the government’s ongoing peace initiatives. Later, committee members presented commemorative gifts to the two speakers.
