DEPUTY Minister for Construction U Myo Myint and members of the rehabilitation and reconstruction committee inspected the Falam Township municipal market and Surbung Airport in Chin State on 3 July.
At the
market, the Deputy Minister instructed officials to maintain cleanliness,
orderliness and food safety standards. He also inspected the registration and
screening of returnees to Falam and coordinated with relevant officials.
He later
inspected the Falam-Reed road and directed authorities to promptly repair roads
and bridges damaged by past conflicts, ensure proper drainage during the rainy
season, and take preventive measures against landslides and road blockages.
At Surbung
Airport, officials reported that although the runway remains in good
condition, key aviation equipment and parts of the airport buildings, including
the control tower, were damaged. They said restoring the airport would improve
transport access to Chin State and support rehabilitation and reconstruction
efforts.
