Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe attended a high-level ASEAN dialogue on cross-border labour issues held in Metro Manila, the Philippines.
The meeting,
led by the Philippines as ASEAN Chair, focused on promoting safe and regular
labour migration, reducing risks along migration routes and enhancing skills
development benefits. ASEAN labour ministers, senior officials, representatives
from the ASEAN Secretariat and the International Organization for Migration
(IOM) also took part.
Participants
discussed regional cooperation mechanisms, protection of migrant workers,
reintegration support, social protection, climate-related migration, crisis
preparedness and digital transformation, sharing experiences and challenges.
