K8.9B worth of WY stimulant tablets seized in Tachilek

Security forces seized 17.8 million WY stimulant tablets worth more than K8.9 billion during an inspection in Tachilek, Shan State, yesterday morning.

Acting on information about suspicious vehicles parked near Myalinpwint motel on Padauk Street in Macaokham Ward, a joint security team searched three unlicensed vehicles and discovered the drugs packed in sacks.

The seizure included six million tablets from a Toyota Fortuner, 7.4 million tablets from a Toyota Hilux single cab, and 4.4 million tablets from a Ford, totalling 17.8 million WY stimulant tablets.

Authorities confiscated the drugs and vehicles as unclaimed items and are taking further action in accordance with procedures while continuing efforts to identify and arrest those involved.
