Rescue, rehab operations ongoing in quake zones

 

Rescue and rehabilitation operations are being implemented in the areas facing extensive loss and damage caused by the Mandalay earthquake.

Lt-Gen Thet Pon from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and relevant officials inspected the clearing of debris at the collapsed building at religious sites in Sagaing.

They also attended the ceremony to mark the three-month memorial of deceased Sayadaws, novices, nuns and civilians at the Shwehintha Monastery in Thawtapan Ward, Sagaing. They listened to sermons delivered by Sayadaws and shared merits.

Lt-Gen Soe Tint Naing from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and officials inspected the demolition of collapsed buildings in Chanmyathazi, Mahaaungmyay, and Aungmyaythazan townships in Mandalay using heavy machinery, and other road safety matters.
