THE Myanmar Police Force seized K10.8 million worth of raw opium in Ywangan and Amarapura Townships and K86 million worth of psychotropic drugs in Tachilek Township, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
A
combined team, including members of the Anti-Drug Police Force, conducted a
search a motorbike driven by Ma Thida Hmwe near Myogyi village in Ywangan
Township at 10:30 am on 1 May. The operation resulted in the seizure of 15
kilogrammes of raw opium, valued at K4.5 million.
According
to the investigation, police arrested Maung Pu (aka) Maung Nyunt with 21
kilogrammes of raw opium valued at K 6.3 million in Amarapura Township.
Similarly,
the Police Force searched a motorbike driven by Lausi Kham (aka) Kyashi Pah in
Tachilek Township at 8:30 am on 2 May and seized two kilogrammes of ketamine
worth K20 million and 0.6 kilogramme of Happy Water worth K66 million.
Legal
action has been taken against the offenders, and an investigation is underway
to identify the perpetrators of the crime chain.
