A delegation led by Thai Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr Maris Sangiampongsa paid a courtesy on State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
They talked about further strengthening existing friendly ties between Myanmar and Thailand and both Tatmadaws and the promotion of cooperation.They frankly exchanged views on plans
to decisively take action against operators of telecom fraud and online
gambling based on the investigation through collaborative efforts of
neighbouring countries and international organizations.
The discussions emphasized that
Myanmar is clearly carrying out activities of exposing and taking action
against offenders in telecom fraud and online gambling as a national duty.
They underscored plans of further cooperation in ensuring peace and stability
with the rule of law in border regions between Myanmar and Thailand,
eradicating illegal trade and terrorism, and exchanging information.
Moreover, they discussed the
endeavours of Myanmar to hold a free and fair general election and promotion of
cooperation in all sectors between the two countries.
Present at the meeting together with
the Senior General were SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Union ministers
and senior Tatmadaw officers. The Thai Minister for Foreign Affairs was
accompanied by Chief of Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces General
Songwit Noonpackdee, the Ambassador of the Royal Thai Embassy to Myanmar, the
Thai Military Attaché and officials.
