The government is strictly cracking down on telecom fraud and criminal acts by cooperating with the international countries including neighbouring countries, and systematically transferring the foreigners involved in these illegal operations.
The authorities transported 111 Chinese nationals via the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge II and one Thai national via the Myanmar-Thailand Bridge I on humanitarian grounds and bilateral relations yesterday.
Most of these foreign nationals were
persuaded to work in online gambling, telecom fraud and destructive actions in
the Myawady-Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas, illegally entering the country.
According to their confession, almost all of them entered the country illegally
passing the border crossings via some neighbouring countries.
Deputy Police Chief Police Maj-Gen Tin Ko Ko of the Myanmar Police Force under
the Ministry of Home Affairs observed the transfer processes.
The handover ceremony was attended by
Deputy Police Chief Police Maj-Gen Tin Ko Ko of the Myanmar Police Force under
the Ministry of Home Affairs, Deputy Director-General Mr Liu Ning Ning of the
Criminal Investigation Department of Public Security of China and Police
Colonel Ploen Klinpayom of No 3 Immigration Department of Thailand’s Tak
Province, and the officials transferred the documents to the authorities of
relevant countries.
