SAC Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Defence Admiral Tin Aung San visited the Zeyathiri Sports Complex yesterday afternoon to observe and encourage the Defence Ministry’s sports teams to prepare for the upcoming Fifth National Sports Festival.
The Deputy Prime Minister began his
visit at Zeyathiri Sports Complex B, where he watched training sessions of the
men’s and women’s volleyball teams and the Sepak Takraw teams. Team managers
and coaches briefed him on the athletes’ preparation, management, and readiness
for the competition.
He continued his visit to the
football field within the Zeyathiri Sports Complex, where he observed the men’s
football team and track and field athletes during their training. He engaged
closely with managers, coaches, and athletes, offering encouragement and
advice.
During his interactions, Admiral
Tin Aung San urged the athletes to embody teamwork and sportsmanship, striving
to become departmental and national pride.
He emphasized the importance of
fair competition and diligent training, encouraging athletes to focus on their
health and fitness as the competition approaches. He also presented nutritional
supplements and cash award to the athletes.
The Defence Ministry plans to field
133 athletes in six sports at the Fifth National Sports Festival: men’s
football, men’s and women’s volleyball, men’s Sepak Takraw, men’s futsal, men’s
and women’s athletic events, and men’s golf.
