DEPUTY Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mra Zan, Vice-Chairperson of the Opening and Closing Ceremony Committee for the Fifth National Sports Festival, visited the rehearsal site in Nay Pyi Taw on the afternoon of 26 November.
She was
accompanied by the director-general of the Department of Arts and Culture. The
rehearsal focused on the presentation of the ‘Six Eras’ dance, which will be
featured during the festival’s opening ceremony.
The ‘Six
Eras’ dance performance involves 300 participants, including 75 artistes from
the Department of Fine Arts a, 100 students from the National University of
Arts and Culture (Yangon), 50 from the National University of Arts and Culture
(Mandalay), 25 students each from the High School of Fine Arts (Yangon) and
(Mandalay), and 25 students from Kayin State.
The
performance highlights six historical eras – Pyu, Bagan, Inwa, Konbaung,
Yadanabon, and the present day. Each era is represented through unidentical
unique dance movements, musical compositions, and symbolic designs reflecting
its cultural significance. The rehearsal is being supervised by the pro-rector
(Training) from the National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay).
