Ministry athletes urged to compete with team spirit: MoI Union Minister

UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn met administrators, coaches and athletes who will participate in the Fifth National Sports Festival 2024, representing the ministry, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Speaking at the event, the Union minister said the ministry will compete in six different sports. The opening and closing events will be held at a national level, and athletes also should compete with sports spirit. The national sports festival is intertwined with health, politics and national political affairs.

He then mentioned the intention of the festival and urged them to compete with a positive attitude, showing unity and following the rules.

He also encouraged them to show their mutual understanding and tolerance and to promote the dignity of the ministry and the country with team spirit.

Then, the Union minister and officials viewed sportswear, gear, medicines and other materials on display.

The ministry will compete in golf (open), Sepak Takraw (men’s), football (men’s), athletics (men’s, women’s), volleyball (men’s), and futsal (men’s), with administrators, coaches and athletes totalling 114.
