THE Central Committee on Multi-Modal Transport organized its first coordination meeting in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, who is also chairman of the central committee, attended the meeting.
The deputy director-general of the Transport Planning Department, in the capacity of the joint secretary of the central committee, clarified the Multi-Modal Transport Law and Rules, and central committee members, relevant departmental officials under the ministry, presidents, and executive members of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), Myanmar Transport and Logistics Federation (MTLF) and Myanmar International Freight Forwarders Association (MIFFA) coordinated the discussion.
The Central Committee on Multi-Modal Transport was formed to implement the stipulations provided in the Multi-Modal Transport Law and Rules under Section 6 of the Multi-Modal Transport Law and to promote the multi-modal transport services and logistics sector.
