Relief and rehabilitation efforts intensify in flood-hit areas

 


RELIEF and rehabilitation measures are ongoing in flood-stricken wards and villages in different regions and states, including Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

Members of Tatmadaw, Myanmar Police Force, Fire Brigade, Red Cross Society and Social Welfare Organization and locals actively participated in cleanup processes in Zeyathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw, Kalaw in Shan State (South), Loikaw in Kayah State, Toungoo in Bago Region, in monasteries, hospitals, schools and departmental buildings, and removed the debris on roads and bridges yesterday.

Medical teams provided healthcare services at the temporary camps, and flood victims were also offered relief supplies, such as clothes, commodities, foodstuffs, and cash. Commanders of military commands and officials inspected the cleanup activities and provided foodstuffs, relief items and cash.

Moreover, the damaged roads and bridges are being repaired in a timely manner to facilitate the transport sector.
