Popa-BaganGeoTraveller Tour’ set to launch on 17-18 Oct

The GeoTraveller from Popa to Bagan, where people can study both culture and nature, will be launched for the first time, according to Ko Tin Ko Min from Mahagiri Group.

Tickets for the GeoTraveller tour will be sold once a month on every full moon day starting from the coming Thadingyut.

“Now we have begun selling Geotourism. Since the Bagan pagoda festival and the dry season are approaching, we are planning to sell tickets. The first GeoTraveller tour that we started selling for the Thadingyut full moon is for a two-day trip to Bagan — on the first day, people can see Mount Popa from Bagan and study nature. Then we will sleep on Mount Popa and start hiking. We will also take the travellers to the geosites that are convenient to visit,” he said.

During the trip to historic Popa and Bagan, visitors can observe the history of Popa, the belief and worship of spirits related to Popa and the Buddha statues built from the volcanic rock of Mount Popa.

Going down to the Bagan plains from the Popa platform, people can feel the differences between hot, cold and humid climates because of the presence of forest trees. At the same time, they can study the biodiversity of Mount Popa National Geopark, volcanic rocks and orchids on the ground while walking in the forest.

Recently, people who want to experience nature and relax have directly visited the Popa area, and the number of pilgrims to Bagan visiting Popa has increased more than before.
