Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and his wife, accompanied by state government officials, attended the graduation of the Arise New Generations October Children Camp, organized by the Light for All Nations Ministry, at 9 am yesterday.
The founder
of the organization, Priest Laja, first explained the objectives of the
training course. He elaborated on the organization’s efforts to rehabilitate
drug-addicted youths and provide them with vocational training to help them
become self-sufficient. The Chief Minister expressed his admiration for the
achievements of the Light for All Nations Ministry in rehabilitating
approximately 3,000 drug-addicted youths in the state and equipping them with
the vocational skills necessary for self-sufficiency.
The event
continued with traditional Kachin dance performances and a talent show by the
trainees. The Chief Minister and his wife donated K1.6 million for educational
materials and meals, while State Social Affairs Minister U Moe Min Thein and
his wife donated sports equipment. The school principal expressed her sincere
gratitude for the donations.
Additionally,
the chief minister and his team attended a ceremony where a foundation
providing free medical services in Kachin State donated advanced hospital beds
to the Myitkyina General Hospital(500-bed). Continuing the ceremony, the chief
minister, on behalf of the donors, presented the advanced patient beds to the
medical superintendent, Dr Win Maw. Ten beds were donated by U Htun Yee and Dr
Sampri from Shwe Phyu Home Furnishings, while six were donated by the Yunnan
Buddhist Temple.
Subsequently,
the chief minister and officials inspected the placement of the 16 donated
advanced patient beds within the hospital and assessed their usability.
