Deputy Auditor-General attends 16th Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institution (ASOSAI) Assembly

 


A Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Auditor-General Daw Naing Thet Oo attended the 16th Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) Assembly and the 9th Symposium held in New Delhi, India, from 24 to 27 September.

The assembly discussed financial statements from 2021 to 2023, reports from the auditing committee, approval of the budget for 2025-2027, and strategic planning for the organization. The assembly also reviewed the outcomes of the Bangkok Declaration, the report on the 13th research planning, and the structure of the ASOSAI Working Group. Additionally, the assembly approved the host country for the 17th Assembly, transferred the chairmanship responsibilities to the Comptroller and Auditor General of India for the period 2024-2027 from Thailand, elected members for the executive board and audit committee, and approved the New Delhi Declaration.

At the 9th Symposium, Auditor-Generals from Israel, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, and Thailand presented on the topic of Digital Public Infrastructure and the Gender Descrimination — Issues of Inclusion and Accessibility. The Indian Auditor-General also reviewed the topic during the discussion.
