THE Ministry of Labour recently issued a statement that as Myanmar is one of the member states of ILO, Labour Organization Law (2011) has been enacted as the implementation and compliance with the Freedom of Association and Protection of the Rights to organize Convention of ILO (No 87).
Labour organizations and employer organizations have been allowed the freedom of the rights to organize, if the facts submitted by them, are complete and accurate in line with the provisions under Section 15, Subsection A and B of Labour Organization Rules enacted on 11-10-2011.
The following Myanmar labour organizations, employer organizations and federations are carrying out organizing measures in accord with the Law since they are in line with Labour Organization Law and Rules (2011):
Moreover, 25 Region/State Labour Organizations, one Township Employer’s Organization, 156 Township Labour Organizations, 26 Basic Employer’s Organizations and 2,824 Basic Labour Organizations have been issued the recognized certificates in accord with Labour Organization Law and Rules 2011.
Therefore, it is declared that the Government has been issuing the recognized certificates to 3,043 labour organizations and employer organizations up to present since Labour Organization Law 2011 was enacted.
