DEPUTY MINISTER for Science and Technology Dr Aung Zeya made trips to Kyaiklat, Wakema and Einme townships in Ayeyawady Region on 28 July to inspect factories using paddy husk-fired gasifiers.
In Kyaiklat, Myo Myat Mon rice mill is being operated with the use of a paddy husk-fired gasifier. In addition to regular functions, the rice mill manufacture paddy husk briquettes on a commercial scale.
Next, the deputy minister viewed round operations of Shwe Pyi Moe modern rice mill in Kyaiklat, Tawwin 2 rice mill in Wakema, and Thiri Zeya Aung rice mill in Einme using modern machines. He also looked into generating electricity by the paddy husk-fired gasifier and disposing of waste water via filters, ability to remove ash and tar, and use of the engine and dynamo in operation. During the inspection process, the deputy minister stressed the need to manufacture value-added products using domestic raw materials to seek shares in the foreign market and pledged to transfer necessary techniques to those businesspersons.
