MoCRD Union Minister inspects affiliated departments under ministry in Rakhine State

 



UNION Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, currently in Sittway, inspected the maintenance work of Mocha-hit buildings of the affiliated departments under the ministry in Rakhine State yesterday.

On arrival at Sittway Port, the Union minister checked the rapid distribution of relief items and assisted the relief teams after making proper instructions.

At noon, the Union Minister attended the handover ceremony of cash donations for Rakhine State rehabilitation processes held at the Rakhine State chief minister’s office together with Chief Minister U Htein Lin and the deputy minister for Religious Affairs and Culture.

At the ceremony, Presiding Sayadaw of Theingon Monastery of Thandwe Township Bhaddanta Tejinda handed over a K5 million donation to the Rakhine State chief minister.

Then, the Union minister and party attended the coordination meeting on rehabilitation processes held at the Rakhine State government office.

During the meeting, the Union minister stressed the need to accelerate the rehabilitation processes to be better than the original ones, conduct rapid arrival of construction materials to be able to serve the duties of countries and cleanup activities in Sittway.

Then, officials of working committees reported on the working processes and further work plans.

The Union minister offered instructions and concluded the meeting. A total of 1,227 mobile stations were repaired in Rakhine State and the mobile communication rate is 99.51 per cent.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation helps farmers to carry out cultivation processes in time with 80 tractors in Rakhine State and it cultivated 1,909 acres until 22 June.

The Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development also distributed a total of 1,036,186 gallons of water to 579 wards and villages in 10 townships and pumped the saltwater from 230 earthen lakes to date.

The Ministry of Electric Power also makes efforts in repairing power cables and sub-stations that transmit power to 10 townships in northern Rakhine State and now it can supply electricity to Sittway, Ponnagyun and Kyauktaw townships.

The electricity was transmitted to seven wards and 26 villages of MraukU via the MraukU sub-station, eight wards and three villages of Minbya via the Minbya sub-station and nine wards and five villages of Myebon via the Myebon sub-station yesterday evening.
