THUKHA Susan social security clinic located at No 1259 on Pale Road, Ward 10, Shwepyitha Township, Yangon Region and Kaungzay social security clinic located at No 862, Maha Bandoola Road, Ward 14, Shwepyitha Township were commissioned into service yesterday morning to commemorate the International Workers' Day.
Union Minister for Labour Dr Pwint San opened the clinics and inspected there.
The Social Security Board under the Ministry of Labour has 1,211,371 insured workers from 34,878 registered workplaces in 116 townships.
A total of 863,533 insured workers from 13,988 workplaces in Yangon Region, are receiving healthcare services from the Social Security Board.
The Social Security Board provides healthcare in three workers hospitals and 96 township clinics, 60 departmental clinics, one traditional medicine clinic, 12 clinics which have signed a contract with the private sector through the Fee For Service system, 24 hospitals/clinics providing outpatient treatment services through the Capitation Payment system, and nine hospital/maternity rooms providing maternity services in addition to two mobile medical vehicles.
In order to provide better health services to insured workers, officials are contracting with private hospitals and clinics.
Currently, SSB has signed contracts with 26 private hospitals/clinics for providing healthcare to the insured workers using the Capitation Payment system.
Healthcare service for workers covered by SSB will be open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily.
