Tatmadaw (Air) transports foodstuffs, relief items to Rakhine State

 


THE relief materials and food items contributed by families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and well-wishers and relief supplies provided by the National Disaster Management Committee for local communities affected by the natural disaster in Rakhine State are being transported by Tatmadaw aircraft, helicopters and vessels.

A contingent of 25 personnel, comprising health workers and relief teams from the Yangon Region, was deployed to offer essential relief and healthcare services in the affected area. The relief materials, including donated items such as biscuits, 500 cartons of duck eggs, 19 cartons of solar equipment, 97 cartons of medical supplies, 300 cartons of instant noodles, five cartons of sardine cans, 10 cartons of porridge, 8 packages of electrolyte salt, and 267 CI sheets donated by India, were transported nine times by Tatmadaw plane from Mingaladon Airport in Yangon to Sittway Airport. In a similar, in the Sagaing Region, a total of 358 personnel from the Myanmar Police Force, from the Police Training Depot in Sagaing, were mobilized to assist in the ongoing relief operations. These dedicated individuals were transported five times via Tatmadaw planes, facilitating their swift deployment from TadaU Airport to Sittway Airport. Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Central Command Commander Maj-Gen Ko Ko Oo and officials gave cash awards and foodstuffs to the rescue members.

In addition, the training depot will continue to send up to 600 members of the Myanmar Police Force.

Officials in the respective areas received relief supplies and will continue to distribute them to storm victims.
