MoIC Union Minister receives UNHCR Representative to Myanmar

 

 

UNION Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing received Ms Noriko Takagi, UNHCR Representative to Myanmar at the Ministry of International Cooperation in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 During the meeting, UNHCR Representative to Myanmar discussed matters relating to the willingness of UN agencies to support and assist the population affected by Cyclone Mocha in Myanmar as well as the repatriation and resettlement of displaced persons from Rakhine. Subsequently, the Union minister deliberated the importance of collaboration between UN agencies and the Government of Myanmar for the provision of humanitarian assistance to the affected population and the government’s efforts on repatriation and resettlement of displaced persons from Rakhine.
